ISDX untrim surface

Hi, does anyone know how to get the 'untrim' function to work - give me
CDRS back! Within ISDX style, you go to the trim function, select the quilt to
trim (or in this case untrim) and it says "select curves to use for trimming
(unselect to untrim)" now I can see all the curves I used to trim the surface,
and they are not selected - so they are unselected - only this does nothing,
and selecting them again gives an 'rasuting geometry is not valid for trim'
message.

There mus be a way surely - is it just that lovely ProE interface?

Thanks for any help.

Stephen

Hi, No, that isn't what I meant.

As I said, this is wanting to untrim a surface within a style feature.

So, say within a style feature I make a square surface, I put in a curve on
surface diagonally from one corner to the other, I use that to trim the
square to a triangle - now, if I change my mind I should be able to
'untrim' and get the square back by using the trim feature again, but the
only way to do it is to delete that curve - which I don't want to do.

Not sure if that is clearer - hope so.

ya, i think i understand now (sorry about my poor english....)

i never use the untrim function before. so i can not tell you if it can work.

but if i'm in your situation,i will delete the trimmed surface, which in your word, the triangle. and the sqaure will be back.so you don't need to delete the curve.

you can try,i hope it will be helpful

Yes, that works, but in reality I have a more complex arrangement, with
several COS and trims of the base surface, when I delete the surface I than
have to rebuild everything each time.

In CDRS which PTC bought and 'integrated' into the ISDX functionality, you
could untrim without destroying everything attacched to the surface. I was
hoping that five years later ISDX might be able to do tha same - but it would
seem not.

Stephen.
