You can move more that 1 part at a time. You can move one, move with children, or move many. Use your model tree for selection purposes. You dont have to pick just parts either you can move sub-assemblies also.
It seems like you are looking for the "easy-button" or the "do my work for me button", It just doesnt exist. If you want an exploded assembly that is exploded in a way of your liking, you will have to do it yourself.
This is from the help documentation "All assemblies have a default exploded view, which is created using the component placement specifications."
