layer by rules

I was told a while back that using def layers in config.pro was the old way of thinking


Im using wildifre 2 now


so I have a new start part with layers created in it that looks lie this

I cannot find anything from PTC or here on this topic other than few oddball questions


does anyone have any info on setting up layer by rule

It is method that jeff described in that post, and you must set associative to layers update any new created planes, curves, surf etc.


It really depends on how you work.
In mine case I all the time rename my planes, curves axis so I would create rule by name.
Also my layers would look something like this:
construction_curves
drawing_curves
geometry_curves
construction_planes
drawing_planes
xsec_planes
z_clipping_planes
asm_planes


And more, I must first see what else I will need then update my start parts.
 
i think this is one of those things that might take me a few months to find what makes me happy then Ill ask the dreaded question on changing old parts to the new layer scheme


I like the names you use Israr looks like this is what Ill try first
