Layers and file size...

Anyone understand the relationship between file size and layers 'cause I sure don't, check this out.

The only difference between the 2 file versions is I hid a layer.

Why-on-Earth would this reduce file size bynearly 70% ????

PTC sure works in mysterious ways - and sure needs to get some smarter people....

What was on the layer?

There are some options in config.pro that will make a huge difference in file size.

Did you save version 33 with the same options set as 34 or was it saved by somebody else with perhaps different settings.

Check your config settings regarding saving the "image", file every time you save your part. With larger parts it can make a huge difference. If it's set to "shaded", switch the setting to wireframe and try the experiment again. If the file size goes way down, then that's your culprit.
