Linear Dimensioning

I am trying to dimension two points which lie on a construction line within sketcher mode.

The construction line is at an angle to the horizontal so when I dimension the points it gives the horizontal distance apart, and I want the linear distance between the points.

How do you do this?

Pick the two points, move the cursor over the construction line between them (constr line will highlight) and MMB
