Linking/associating parts?

Hi! I'm trying to figure out how to link or associate parts but having trouble.

I have one completed shape called 'master'. However it needs to be split
into two and shelled and then each half of the master part will have work
done on it. What I'm trying to do if figure out away to have the two halves
linked to the original master part, so that if I change a dimension on the
master part, the two halves will update as well.

Any ideas, it would be really appreciated!

sounds like "copy geometry" is perfect here. Or maybe good old "merge" if you dont have aax. . Do you know how it works?
