Making surface from flat contour

Hi

I'm having problems creating a flat surface that has a sketched contour.

I am doing this because I will run a Pro/M analysis on a piece of sheet metal, so I supposedly need a surface to work with.

The surface is flat, but I find no tool for creating such a simple thing. All I find are tools for creating surfaces from extruding a sketch along the Z axis, or from multiple curves in 3 dimensions, or for cutting and merging and so on.

What am I overlooking here? I would appreciate a pointer or two.

try this:

edit--> fill

for flat surfaces the fill command is recommended since extruded surfaces may or may not be flat.
