Making threads?

Blackout

New member
I've been trying to figure out how to add threads to my parts in SW. I've read on the cosmetic threads in the help, but it isn't doing exactly want I am wanting. This is the first time I've had a need to create threads... so this is a test.

I've got a tube. I've got an end cap that screws into it. I have a simple cap, but any time I try to do the cosmetic thread annotation, it always puts the threads on the inside. I need to have the threads on the OD.

Additionally, I'm using the hole wizard to put a hole in the center of the cap, which is threaded. I've tried a number of the options, but after I do it I don't see any threads in the hole. I need them to be visible for PhotoWorks and nothing shows up.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Blackout.

Attached is a SHCS I created. You can modify this one or use it to create or practice on a new part! Good luck!! I may have to try it again later as the website says they have an internal error. Let me know if the file posts.

There is a special setting in the options menu to view cosmetic threads, if you don't check this box you won't see the thread.
