I was thinking of designing iphone, ipad, etc.. cases. I want to make them out of Titanium, does anyone know much a prototype would cost? Where I can I go get one?
If you are going to do some prototype or low number runs builds from Ti then make them from DMLS/SLS. You can get a near net shape and then just need to do minimal machining/polishing. I work in medical devices and we use this process when doing prototype or one-off designs for surgical instruments. I'll PM you one one of vendors and the contact there.
Why don't you go down to the mall, walk into the apple store, and see for yourself how they fit. This should have been your first step before modeling.
