Hi Friends,

Help me develop on mapkey which should basically select all the parameters existing in a part/assembly and delete it.

Scenario:

I have various parts and assemblies which are not having clear parameters, some are havnig 5, some are having 10, some are having 20 bla bla.In one mapkey, If I can select all parameters irrespective of how many paramaters it had, then it will be very helpful for me.

Appriciate quick response...

I don't know what version of Pro/E you are on. I am on Wildfire 4.0. Normally, mapkeys will work on a recorded list of button picks. Since, I don't see a function where you can select all parameters (assuming you mean the User Defined ones). The only way I can see that you can approach this is to create a mapkey to delete all known parameters of which you know the names of all the parameters. To make this work, you'll have to get a list of all the parameter names and create a part with all those parameters and then create a mapkey to delete all of them. Then, try it out on other parts. You'll have to test it out on assemblies as well. This is how I would start it. You'll have to update the mapkey as you discover parameters that weren't on the original list. You might have to do this several times.

If the parameter names are not predictable, this wont work.

This might be more of a Pro/TOOLKIT or JLink opportunity if you know any developers.

Why do you want to do this?

Don't have proe in front of me but this should be doable.

Dig around in the text menus of the parameter dialog. You should be
able to search for and select all parameters, perhaps by name using a
wildcard. And once selected, delet them.
