Mapkeys & Wildcards

I want to create a mapkey thet will remove the material from the materials window (edit/setup/materials). We have users that will leave in 3 or 4 different materials behind. The mapkey I created will remove the material as long as I type in the correct name into the mapkey, but I will not know what materials will be in there. I have tried leaving out the name, using a 0 or 1 as well as *. This is the one time I wish the mapkey would pick a location. Here is the line from the mapkey. The material listed is DEFAULT. Is there some way I can use a wildcard to select whatever material is there? I am on wf3. Thanks!

mapkey(continued) ~ Select `material_finder` `MtrlFModelMtrlList`1 `DEFAULT`;\

Try tab or alt-tab, or some other key stroke to try and get the control in the window. As far as I know, the mapkeys cannot utilize wildcards.

However, instead of trying to create this "fix" you should focus on the root cause. Why are there multiple materials in the list, and why don't you want them there in the first place?
