Measure diameter??

How come you can't measure a diameter (or radius) of an edge? For example, pretend this was an imported part (like an igs) and you needed to know what the radius of those fillets were, how would you do it?


It seems like such a simple thing...

Cut it in half along the symmetry plane, then you should be able to, if it is not a conic.

THEN GO TO ANALYSIS-MEASURE- RADIUS


U'LL GET THE REQURED DIM.

A quick and dirty method that could get you pretty close would be to add a surf-surf round between your two cylinders and adjust the R until the the preview geomety does not show. Then just cancel out of the feature.

go to analysis> geometry> Radius select the round surface

You need to do a curve analysis to measure edge curvature. In WF3 go to Analysis -> Geometry -> Curvature. Under the 'Geometry' tab you can change the Type from 'Curvature' to 'Radius'. WF2 is similar.


It shouldn't be that hard, but there you go.

Make sections where ever u want to measure


then create curves by using " Use Xsec "


now go to sketcher, create curves taking support from X sec curves ( u can get the dimensions in thesketcher)
