Measuring in Sketcher Mode

Hi,

There are some occasions when it would be really nice to have measuring capabilities in Sketcher mode. Is this possible? My instructor says no and so far I have no luck doing so. I have used other CAD systems that have this capability and it seems like a basic requirement!

Thanks,

Sarah

Im not sure why you would measure, but you can add dimensions and ref dimensions to "measure" items.

While in Sketcher mode:
_The Analyis menu has six tools tacked on to the bottom
end of the list that can be used for Sketcher entities.
_The standard mode Analysis tools can still be used for
model geometry.

If, in addition to Ref Dimensions and Known Dimensions,
you still can't get what you want holler back with a
specific requirement and maybe a workaround can be found.

... use your dimension tool to dimension the distance you want. This will create a known value. You sketch will have to be in the view you want to measure tho

You know what would be nice is to be able to get a curvature analysis of a spline in sketcher. I thought there was a way to do it but I attempted is recently to no avail.

There is a curvature option under the Analysis menu but it doesn't stay on screen. After you have createdthe spline select it and right mouse click>modify. There isa curvature icon therethatwill show the curvature as you modify it.

There are two Sketcher curvature graphs. The one in the Spline Edit environment and another that can be used for any curve; Analysis menu, Curvature (at the bottom of the list).
