measuring partial surface area

I'm trying to find a method where by I can measure the partial surface area of a model. For example, lets say I have a stamped plate, and there is a need to plate a portion of the plate ( front half of the plate), is there a way I can use the model analysis feature in pro e to do this?

i didn't understand your example but one technique of measuring partial area of a surface is to create a sketch and project it on to the surface so that the area you want to measure lies inside the projected curve. then trim the surface using the projected curve and choosing to keep both surfaces. then you'll be able to measure the area inside the projected curve.
