Mechanica... create a .prt from an .asy

design-engine

I have a small assembly of tubes and channels and I want to run an Mechanica FEA analysis. There is a gap or tolerance between the parts... ie. There is no interference in the assembly. What is the best way to make a solid for running the FEA?Is that the best practice? Create one solid from the parts in the assembly?

export assemblythru stp format and import as part file. it will not give the better results. for better results run fea on assembly itself.

To get better results, try exporting the assembly to parasolid entity and insert this in a new part file. I have found more success rate with this method. Although there is no guarantee of success in any of the methods and is purely dependent on the complexity of the assembly.
