Merge & solidify

[-Skint-]

New member
Hi All, I have attached a small model which I have created so that I can learn surfacing and Style 2006-06-16_084916_extended_lever.prt.zip. I have not used pro-e for some time and im afraid im falling behind with my learning. Anyway, my problem is that I have merged the surfaces together, including the style feature, but it still will not let me Solidify the part ? I thought that if it would allow me to merge all surfaces, then surely it knows the boundaries of which it should solidify. Hope that makes sense.

Can anyone please help me

Hi again, sorry for multiple posts, I believe the problem is with the connection between the style surfaces and the other surfaces, they do not seem to match perfectly, do you have any idea of how I do this.

Failing that, would it be easier for me to use boudary blend ? You can see the sketch which I am trying to match.

Hi csusie, yeah I had a feeling I had done something wrong. I am the pro-e noob and I have not done anything really with surfaces. I do not get pink edges show on mine, is this something I may have to activate with config ?

Im just not sure what I have to do to correct it. All I need is to be able to Solidify this piece.

appinmi, step file attached mate

Thanks for looking guys.2006-06-16_112141_extended_lever.rar

Off subject- I read in the rendering thread the you play COD(2). do you still play?

I play on a really good server if you would like to join.

Well, you need to repick your boundarys for the boundary blend.

High level view of the problem:

You have a hole in your quilt, which is represented by pink edges in the wildfire color scheme. When you hit the solidify command image you are filling that quilt with water. Since there is a hole it runs out and cannot fill it. So in order to fix it you must completeyclose that quilt so you can fill it with water/solid.

The easist way to think about the solidfy command is with the water scenario
