mirrored merge

The "mirrored merge"appears as a feature, if you create mirror part including all feature data. This was not a sheetmetal option.

there are 2 ways to create it,

1)open a part go to file/ mirror part select include all feture data tab. then create the part. then you will get "mirrored merge" feature in the new part.

2) This one you can do it in Assembly also. create new part in the assembly select mirror tab.

I don;t like to mirror my sheetmetal parts.

Maybe it's because you can hardly pattern anything in ProE-sheetmetal ?

I've done some advanced sheetmetal in ProE (for electrical connectors) and it struck me how different the level of performance is. You can do transition bends, going from flat to rolled bend, you can include stretched parts between walls that look good in bent and flattened state, but you can do a simple mirror of some feature from one side to another.

Working in Solid Edge there is nothing that will not pattern. If it doesn't work with "fast pattern" (the option when working with features connected to similar planes) then there is "smart pattern", which is truly smart and understands what you're driving at.

Doinc Catia lately and found the same weakness. You can mirror cutouts and holes if they belong to the same feature plane but even a simple flange or tab won't come across to the other side.

Not all CAD is created equal.
