mirroring failure

i am unable to show you the model but what has happend is i imported an iges file there were 30 some surfaces that needed fixed the part is a mirrorable part so i fixed half the model with zip gaps replaced many surfaces etc...


anyway i get done im happy i trim half the model away merge it then solidified but i am unable to mirror it has anyone runinto anything liek this?

I have.... The model is solid and goto to mirror it and it fails... Yes I have been there. The problem I had was there was still some issues with geometry of the part model. Heal geometry is what I had to do.

ok ill look everything over but since i had solidified i assumed it was ok to go

A good way to check the model is to try and create a surface copy of it. When the geometry fails it will show you where. When you just mirror it it will not show you where the problem is.

well now im even more discouraged it allowed me to copy all surfs

Well try mirroring the surface model then and then just solidify it.
