Missing Icon

In version 2001, whilst working for a different company, we used to have an alternative shade icon for when spinning a large assembly model whilst shaded. This somehow used less graphic memory and speeded things up a lot. This icon now does not appear to be available in any of the new WF toolbars. Does anyone know if this was perhaps a 'special' and if so how can I duplicate it in WF.

maybe unrelated but... sometimes thishas something to do with display datums while spinning. -- even if the planes are turned off it calculates them and adds a great deal of spinning time.

view, display settings, model display. tun them off.&a mp;n bsp;

make mapkey to toggle on/off if you wish.

altenatively.... view, shade is different then picking the shade icon (next to wire, hidden, no hidden)

That sorted it straight away. Obviously some one at the last company had made an icon to do exactly that, so I have done the same again.

Does anyone know the 'technical' reason for the speed difference between the two shades. Also, why do you have to repaint in order to get out of it whereas you can just move from wireframe to 'ordinary' shade and back again with just a click on the icon?
