Mitter Flange

Hy all !

I encutered un unexpected problem with MITTER FLANGE feature.

I have a sheet metal and I try to use a MITTER FLANGE feature to make some bendings. I define the sketch (an "L" shape) then I aplly the feature.

In the PREVIEW I see that 2 flange are intersected, but, if SW show me the preview, I think that all is ok. But, when I click OK, SW cry, tell me that the feature intersect himself and refuse to create the feature.

I can not avoid tu use the entire length of the edges for MITTER FLANGE feature. To usestart/end offset is not an option for me. Also, "Ignore self-intersection check for some sheet metal features" has no efect with MITTER FLANGE feature

If SW allow me to define the feature at this time, then I make the necesary cuts to remove the material where the intersection occure.

Can you help me ?

Thank you !

I had a similar problem with intersecting corners and flanges when every thing looked good to me. What I had to do was go back and add the flanges one at a time with the flange tool. Then I hade to modify the sketch to get my miter flange anglesthe way I wanted them. This is the answer they gave me at Solidworks tech support. Sounds to me like the tool doesn

Thank you Holopro. You save time for me. I use SW 2009. I follow the same path as you to build the bends. Maybe it is not (yet) other solution. Thank you again.

Hi
Here is my solution
Make for first bend a mitter flange and then in a single flange operation make the second bend selecting the edges you want. SW will make automatically the cuts.
