Model Cables ???

Goat

New member
I have to do some wire harness layout designs and was hoping to get some ideas on what would be the best way to model this. Now the cable will change directions often but no more than 120 degree (i would hope). I was thinking about sweep/blends but it doesn't seem to work.

Any tips/suggestions would be greatly appreciated thanks

Goat,

I take it you do not have the "cabling" function? My company decided that only me using cabling wasn't enough value and canned it...grrr. So what I do is make a curve through points and sweep a protrusion. Makes about the same result, but does take some time. You can get it to straigten by splitting the line into between two points only for some segments. You should be able to duplicate what a wire does.

cheers,

M
