modeling chain/applying mechanism...

anyone ever model chain and apply mechanism constraints to it and have any success getting it to behave as a chain would naturally? if so- how. Thanx in advance.

ive never seen a chain modelled in p-e do a full revolution. i believe
its possible but would be a exceeding pain in the butt to make. Not
difficuelt but long and tedious.

if you have your heart set on a fully working chain, you should be
prepared to spend a excess about of time on it. for a quick and nasty
result you can always use a Vss over a curve to replace your chain.

i have a chain working, but drove it with a sprocket driven by a servo.

the links can misbehave and instead of staying in a long line, can fold backover on one another

as puppet warned, it is very time consuming, every link had four constraints - two slots, planar, and an anti flip-over, shich was another slot.

i have an assemblyin 2001 with 17 links going around a sprocket

cheers

basically have found that for the time I have spent on it and its intended use- I would have been better off to just put in a skeleton with a note saying "chain"- I got it but its been a total pig...
