Hi balaji and welcome to the forum. Which program are you using? This is Proengineer forum. If you want to find something on this forum just click onf SEARCH button and type what you want to find. I found this topic http://www.mcadcentral.com/proe/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=29 408&KW=Football

You can find more topics about this model but you simplyhave tofinding through topics. I saw there even golf ball model or other kind of models.

And if you want to upload something just click on "Diskette" button in POST REPLY window. (In right, up corner of window.)

Good luck.

Might be a cool challenge to model the polygon football shape and make
it scale up or down with Pro/PROGRAM. Prompts ?

1. How many polygon facets? 2. Diameter?

I think the prompt shoud only be diameter.. is the geom of a football (excluding the one usd the the world cup) made up of a set number of pentagons and hexagons?

The edge length is the only driving dimension that you need and by far the easiest to work from. Working backwards, the diameter of the circumscribed sphere is about 4.95 times the edge length

I haven't done the trig yet to work it out it exact surd form.

B.T.W. I still don't think the uploaded soccer balls are that wonderful as detailed in the above linked forum and the STEP file of the golf ball is mine as a result of the post on
