Modelling of a wavy washer

I am trying to model a component similar to a wavy washer but with a slight difference. Instead of the radial nature of the wavy washer profile, I want to be able to sketch a curve and ask the shape to follow the curves. Its hard to describe so a picture may help:





This is my effort of trying to create the part by creating 2 "wavy" curves on the ID and OD that touch the ends of the curves at the peaks and the troughs. I'm struggling to create a protrusion or surface between the 2 wavy curves that also follows the curves at the peaks and troughs.


Any ideas anyone?
