Does anyone hav any experience and comments about using the Motion Skeleton subtype introduced in Wildfire 3? I can't find much information about it through the PTC support options.
If you go into the PTC Knowledge Base, there is a video on how to implement them. I wish it had been a document like the overwhelming majority of HTML docs in the KB that you can save and print out. With this one, I had to stop and start repeatedly while taking notes.
Thanks for the information. I see what you mean about the video tutorial,
it was almost worth creating screen-grabs and printing them off.
It all seems to make sense and seems to offer some benefits in being able to
create a concept of the motion quickly. However, I was under the impression
that the best practice with multiple skeleton models was to group them by
sub-assembly so each sub-assembly contains its own skeleton, and this skeleton
then references the main skeleton in the top-level assembly. The method
proposed in the tutorial means all the skeletons reside within the top-level
assembly. I thought I could maybe restructure the skeletons as a workaround,
but this isn't possible.
I could create a second skeleton for each sub-assembly that references the relevant
motion body skeleton, but this adds extra parts to worry about.
Is it worth using this new motion skeleton method and leaving each skeleton
outside its respective sub-assembly?
I've just looked at this video tip from PTC Express suggesting a different technique that doesn't use the new motion skeleton functionality. I typically find this more traditional approach more useful as I can use a skeletons within each sub-assembly where required.
I'd be interested to hear of any experience with the new mechanism skeleton and how is stacks up.
Hi there ... I'm interested to mentioned functionality of WF 3 as well. The Motion Skeleton feature seems to be powerful thing, but how to create it ? Does anybody have any tutorial how to do it ?
but there is closed chain of mechanism. Now my question is, Is it possible to make the motion skeleton for opened chain mechanism? If so, how to do that ? Edited by: Miko
