Moving dimension to another view problem

What could be the reasons why I can't move a dimension to a new view?





the message i get is:


Can not move the specified dimensions to the selected view.

I am trying to move the dimension to a detail view of the original view. So in this case the views are parallel.

Is the dimension you are trying to move a created dimension? or did you use the show dimensions tool? You can NOT move a dimension that was created to a new view even if it is a detailed view of the original view.

it is a shown dimension. good reply.

I believe I may have answered my own question:


since the dimension in the main view belongs to features not shown in the detail view, pro/e won't allow them to be switched.

I could test this out. However, I don't have the time to modify the view right now.....
