Multi-colored surface?

Is it possible to have multiple colors on a single surface,
perhaps defined by a sketch? I have forced this in the
past by creating small .001" cuts, but that is not ideal.
Today I tried creating a sketch and using the Fill command
to create a surface. This works, but it suffers from the
shading problem created by two coincident surfaces.

Surely there is a way to do this?

if its a surface model you can split the surface and then apply different colors to each surf. If it

You can apply decals

I am unfamiliar with decals. Care to elaborate?

you take a JPG image and then apply that image to a color in the color menu. then, you use that new color to apply to a part or surfaces on a part. it's usually how I apply a product label to my model once my graphic artists have come up with the design.

You can also dothis using ISDX along with a combination of other surface features, such as fill and boundary blend, and replace the solid surface using the offset command.
