Hi guys my names daniel and im a student in mech eng.
Im curently trying to teach myself some mechanica and have a quick question if thats ok?
Im currently testing a disc type object that is being loaded from both top and bottom faces by 2 circular loads of different diameters. The loads form a constant circular shape and so should hopefully give an equal force along the specified diameters.
I am also testing to see if it possible to achieve the same thing but with multiple load points instead of 1 continuous diameter. I have used datum points along the diameter as reference for where the loading should occur. I hope you will able to visualise this from the description.
My main question is this, and is probably a very simple one, but i am not in lessons this year and have been thus far unable to find any material on the subject,
"when stating the load for the mulitple loading (datum point method), does the load divide amoung all of the points? or should i set the load as a division of the number of points?"
Also, the loading will be multiple points at top and bottom, should the loading from each side be a division of the maximum load(I would think yes but dont want to get it wrong so better to ask some pro's!)
Sorry if this is not very clear, I would appreciate any feedback guys
Thank you for your time
