Need to Cut Door in to 6" Pipe

New@ProE

New member
I need to cut an accessDoor (Opening) into an 18" pc of 6" Pipe. I will thenneed to put hinges on the door use it to cover the access opening.

I know that I will need to use a "Variable Section Sweep with Multiple Trajectories", but I'm not quite sure how to go about it. If anyone knows of a tutorial on the subject or might have any pearls of wisdom you would be willing to share -- I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks for sharing . . .

welcome new guy,

if you google proe variable section sweep you will find some info.. i think there is even some info here under articles.

posting a image of the pipe you want to cut would go a long way in enabling others to help you here.....18" pc of 6" pipe doesn't really say much...isit straight ? curved? ......vss might not be really needed.

the method you plan on using to manufacture this would help also

Thats it exactly what I will need to model. Can you please tell me where I might be able to find a tutorial or forum that will get me close? Is it possible to get a .prt & use "model player" to step me thru the process.

Thank you my friend . . .

Just give me your email and I will send the WF 2.0 .prt file to you. I'm here to help. I also made the taper a few different ways so you can see different ways to get the same result.

you can aslo make it as surfaces and then project\wrap a curve on it and then trim or what you want
