hi all

i am sending you a doc file. with a problem i am facing with nested repeat reagion.

leme explain a bit.

i have a assembly with few subassemblies and parts.

say the maximum no of parts in a subassembly is 10 and other subassemblies have 5 or 8 parts. But in nested repeat region it is maiking 10 rows for all subassemblies. keeping the rest blank (when there is 5 or8 parts)

i cannot filter or delete these blank rows.

looking forward for solution

first: You can directly upload an image file using the buttons provided. No need to paste in word and then compress it.

As regards your problem... Table> Repeat region>attributes>minimum repeats> (set to 0).

hi sanjeev

i think this will help

repeat regen>filters>by item>exclude>select row>ok>exclude

try this hope this will work

dear i tried the thing you said but the file size was large then 50kb anyways thanks for the advice.

and regarding your solution: attribute is already set to 0.

patil82 thanks buddy this thing works good when its a normanl repeat region. but in nested region it is not picking ay row.

thanks for your kind help patil82

Maybe you can set the filter to be "by rule"?

e.g. repeat regen->filters->by rule->edit

Then a text editor shown up,

type &asm.mbr.USER PARAMETERS != ""

Then save and exit.

The USER PARAMETERS can be description, part no... which are defined in
the part parameters. e.g. &asm.mbr.part_no != "" means filtering
out the items that the part no is empty.

if you type &asm.mbr.part_no == "", then keeps only the item that the part no is empty.

hi zeta

i have never used rule based filter ever before

i have tried the way you said but it is not working

can you explain this feature bit more

say i have a parameter 'discription' that is empty

so i am giving &asm.mbr.discription !=

till this its ok

then what next?

it is not showing any change (even after undating the table)

At first, all parts have a parameter called description, otherwise the filter ignores it.

&asm.mbr.description != "" means the description of part is not equal to "" (empty)
and these parts will be shown on the table

you can see:

I persist that your level 3 and Level 4 (perhaps, not sure)does not have attribute values No duplicates and Minimum repeats set to 0 (zero).

Further post a snap shot of the table with the values toggled.
