Note in model tree

I'm trying to find a way to place a note in the model tree. I've tried using 3D notes, but I don't want the note to appear in the model display, and the 3D note does not appear in the tree (I'm sure there's a way to configure it to show, I'm just unsure as to how) Anyone know a way to do this? I'm using Wildfire 2. Just out of curiosity, does WF3.0 provide any better way to do this?

Insert an Annotation Feature (either from the icon on the right side toolbaror Insert > Model Datum > Annotation) and then hide it using layers. That way it will appear on the model tree, but not on the screen. This is the same in WF2 and 3.

Another option:

In the model tree, select Settings->Filters-> and check Annotations.

Create the 3D note either at the model or feature level. You will now see it in the model tree. Right Click on the note and select Erase.
