Numberless Dimensions

I'm attempting to create a drawing where the
dimensions are selected by the user specific application. So
instead of having a number, I would like to put a "Put your dimension
here" text string, but I can not determine how to create a dimension
without a number. I can add the text after the dimension, but
having a number and then a string saying this is where your dimension
goes, seems silly. I thought of just putting a note in, but it
would not have the same look of a dimension. Any help would be
appreciated.

Thank you,

Jim Giacchi

This must be a "created" dimension in the drawing. Edit the dimension text, and replace the "d" with an "o", then add your text. This method will not work on a parametric dimension, (a dimension on the model).

The dimension in the properties box looks like this: @D. Replace the D with an O, and type in your text. You can get as fancy as you want.

You can also use a driving dimension with the symbol shown instead of the value. Change the symbol from d123 to some thing like "Put". Then change the dimension test from @D to "@S your dimension here".

And the second dimension ? Doubt that you can put 'put' twice on different dimensions.

No, you can't. But you can ust "put" for one, and "pu" for the other and add the "t" in the dimension text
