Hi guys..<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

I have created parts, assemblies (about130 assy)and the respective drawings without usingparameters, now I want to add so.Can anybody please suggest me how to do this task because it

HI Raghu

Theproblem might be tht u have not used the same start part for all the models u have created.

Make sure tht the parameters available in the part in which u have recorded the mapkey are same for all the models where u r running the mapkey .

Bcos if some model already has the parameter which ur mapkey is trying to enter then the mapkey will not run and gives an error

And one more thing make sure u had opted For "Pause for Keyboard Input " while recording the mapkey.

Hi

The better way of doing it is to create a Mapkey Recording only The Entry Of all required parameters

Before Recording tht make sure u delete all the existing parameters in the part . Only after doing this start recording the mapkey.

Nowbefore using this mapkey ...make sure u delete all the existing parameters manually and then run the mapkey

Hope this should help U

Make and run the mapkey with config.pro option: new_parameter_ui no

It disable the new WF userinterface. The old UI is much better for mapkeys.

Or you can add the parameters in a relation.

Or add the parameters with Modelcheck

If you have Intralink you can add the parameters in Intralink.

You can download sbatch http://spekantools.innotiv.nl/index.php. It is a very good batch tool for ProE. You simple select the objects you would like to add parameter to and select the mapkey to use. It is free. I have save a lot of time with this tool.

If you want the same parameters in all your parts, then try the following procedure:

- open assembly
- select all parts in the model tree (do not select patterns and groups, expand them and select only parts within them)
- right click and choose "Edit Parameters" from the menu
- add parameters with "+" and it will be added to all selected parts.

You can only add parameter and leave "Value" field empty, or you can also set the "Value" if you want same parameter and same value for multiple parts.

I hope this helped.

Regards.

If you are stuck adding them manually another way would be to make sure the top level assy has all the parameters you need, then in the model tree add columns for those parameters. You can now go down thru the model tree adding the missing parametersand values to each part and sub-assy.
