Parent Child Relations

Help,

I am trying to modify a part in a assembly but it has parent child relations off of it by using projection of geometry. So when I modify the fetures actual definition, I am finding that it is talking about a dozen parts and creating havic. How can I turn off the parent child relations and keep the parts in its current location so I can modify or fix them at my own rate instead of using that failure dialog box.

Thanks

you cannot turn off the child parent relation. In order to fix the problem you will have to reroute you references. I don't think there is a way around to this one but fix the problem so it will not fail.

Hi Phil,

Why don't you try to open that particular component in Part Mode and try removing all the references it has taken and give Part datum planes as references. I think then the component becomes independent. I think this should work.
