part axis show in assembly

We have parts and sub-assy's that part of the axis show in the next assy's even though they are on layers that are hidden. One example is a machined forklift wheel (sub-assy) which I have in a forklift assy in a forklift dyno layout assy in a building layout assy. If I open the wheel or forklift assy first and then the upper level assy's the axis don't show, but if I open the dyno or building layout assy's the axis show for part of the assy cuts and one piece part center axis.We just recently switched to Wildfire 2.0 from 2001.If I open the individual part/assy and remove all axis from layers and put them back on it fixes it. Planes, points, and cys don't seem to have the same problem. We didn't have any problems in 2001 with this. Has anybody else had this problem? Is this a 2001 to Wildfire 2.0 conversion problem? Is there a easy fix or do I have to pull upolder version parts/assy's and fix the axis layers, very time consuming (we have 1,000's of large assy's).

Thanks

We converted from 2001 to WF 2.0 but we had no such problem.

The layer structure in WF 2.0 is much more better than it was in 2001. In WF 2.0 default layers are defined and you can fix your problem by just creating new layers.

I would suggest use search tool if you want to look for a certain axis and add

display_axes no

to your config.pro file.

If you are talking about the axis "tags" showing up on the drawing, just click the icon "datum axis on/off" to turn them off. In "part" or "assembly" mode, this will turn off all axis so you cannot see them. In drawing mode, this only effects the axis "tags".

well I have to admit that my firm also has no problem with layers in WF 2.0

as far as I know this version has upgraded funcionality with layers , it allows You to switch on\off layers independent from main layer in assembly - if You are confused reading this check layer fucionality in WF 2.0 it should be somewhere on PTC web page

if I can mention about problem with WF 2.0, we have such, but with interference between parts in assembly, I think I will post it as seperate thread, the problem is that it happens to often when in drawing there are incorrect sections or missing edges

there was nothing like that in 2001

There are all kinds of problems with layers in WF2. Mostly in the drawing package but there is issues with parts and assemblies to. Yesterday I had a layer that could not be hidden?

We here have some larger assemblies on with some machining has to be done.

Now to make only the reference axis visible for the machining I want to place all axis on a layer axis. In 2000i2 you could assing a property to a layer so that iven if you select a cut, only the axis is hidden when the layer 2_axis is hidden, same for holes with thread

In WF2 if I want ti make a layer to put only axis on, I have to select the tread and then when layer is hidden, thread is also no longer visible.

Anybody any suggestion how to still be able to have the thread visible but not the axis ?

For "Indusign".

I use default layer from template "mmns_part_solid.prt" called "02___PRT_ALL_AXES". It has a rule ... of "has Axes" type, and I can hide axes without hiding a cosmetic feature-thread.

As for problems with layers, I experience problems withlayer I made named "my_axes".Itshould accomodate"has axes" features excluding "externall copy geometry".When I am in "Insert mode",i.e. when I right-click "insert here" arrow and say "CANCEL", WF2 regenerates all remaining features but forgets to put all axes on the layer despite the fact that "rules enabled" and "associative" in the layer are turned on. Then I am forced to turn "rules enabled" off, click on "update layer", turn the layer visibility on and then turn it off again. Pretty annoying, isn't it.

What do I do wrong.
