PART CHANGE, ASSEMBLY PROCESS, REORDER

I HAVE AN ASSEMBLY THAT WAS CREATED BY ANOTHER DRAFTSMAN SEVERAL YEARS AGO. THE PART I AM CHANGING IS A RING THAT IS NOW GOING TO BE MADE IN 2 PIECES. THE WAY IT WAS DONE BEFORE IS THE PART WAS CUT AND WELDED IN PLACE AND THEN MACHINED AND DRILLED. NOW THAT I AM CUTTING THE PART IN HALF THE MACHING AND DRILLING SHE DID IN THE MODEL WELDMENT IS BEING LOST ON THE SECOND PIECE OF THEPART. IS THERE SOME WAY TO REORDER THINGS IN THE MODEL TREE AND PLACE THIS SECOND PART IN A STEP RIGHT AFTER THE FIRST ORIGIANL PART OR WILL I HAVE TO GO IN AND REDO THE HOLES AND MACHING FOR THIS SECONDARY PART. I HOPE MY WORDING MAKES SENSE.
