Part Name & material in relations

Hi all,


1.Can any one say how to get the part name/assembly name in relations, so thatI canassign it to some variable as a string.


I tried MODEL_NAME/PART_NAME/FILE_NAME/ASSY_NAME (Eg: ABC=MODEL_NAME)but no result.


2.Another query is How to show the assigned material in the drawing or in parameters. (ofcourse this is after creating the Material properties file). for this I tried Eg: PRT_MATL=mp_material(), but same as above...no result.


Note: I'm using WILDFIRE1.0.

On the second query, just add the parameter to the part, name=material/ type= string/value=steel(or else) and on the dwg.fmt the block that you have assign for material just add &material:1 and that should work.

SO DIFFICULT. I HAVE NO WAY

Dear arroyopr,
It is not possible. Presently I created the required parameters in a part file / assembly file and i type the material n following thissince long time.


in this case say i have two different material files STEEL & ALUMINIUM. I can assign any one out of two materials.


Say I had assigned STEEL. fine pro-e assigns the material to the part. If i go to parameters n try to change Material value, i can type any thing, even XYZ.


What i want is it has to take the assigned material and shud get updated once i re-assign to some other value.


Hope i made it clear now.

In the material file, add the name to the CONDITION line, and add the following relation - this will ensure that the material parameter is always correct.


MATERIAL=MATERIAL_PARAM("condition")
