Partition a single part into volumes

Is it possible to partition a single solid part into volumes that can be exported as an iges or stp file? Additionally, can you partition a surface into multiple surfaces? This would greatly help in meshing parts for FEA.

yeah why not!!

Q1)put ur master part in an assy, make two new blank parts and assemble it into assy as u like. activate a part by right click the part in model tree n activate. then copy surfaces of what u need and save it, later on u can make changes in part mode.

Q2)all type of surface trim commands has an option to keep both sides of surface. as this u will get two partitions of an old surface.
