parts library

A lot of times, you can go to McMaster-Carr (www.mcmaster.com) and download a .STP file of certain models and then import it into Pro-E. Just find the wing nut that you need and look for the 3-d model link along the left hand side

So, does anyone know of a decent file library for standard hardware (nuts, bolts, pipe fittings, structural members, etc) that works well with ProE. Doesn't neccesarily need to be free. I'm not looking for a specific part. My company is rolling over to proE and new ERP, etc etc, and it would be nice if we didn't have to model all of these little bits.

Traceparts looks decent, but I get the feeling I'd be getting a whole bunch of stuff I don't want.

This may be wishfull thinking, but I'd also like to take structual members and be able to use them with family tables. Am I likely to find models that I can edit in ProE??

Have you looked at this section of MCAD

Can you please send me a link on where I can go to request the parts library?

So far on www.ptc.com I have only found a link to http://www.catalogdatasolutions.com/catalog/free3dcadmodels/ caddrawings/wildfire.html

Which is pretty useless with long load times, and only allowing you to download one part at a time. Most of the parts from there are already on:

I also went through http://www.partcommunity.com/PARTcommunity/Portal/wildfire?s id=2which was linked from the catalog datasolutions website but yet again no luck there on getting a Cd. I tried sending in for a request by clicking the link at the bottom but that just sent me a worthless e-mail thanking me for my intereset in PARTsolutions not even mentioning a Cd.

I tried traceparts

This one is alright, but yet again its searching through loads and loads of models and then downloading them one by one...

Thanks for the help in advance.

You have to have active maintenance with PTC and an account. Go to the Order or Download Software Updates page. Select Pro/ENGINEER as your product. The page will be huge and take forever to load. Scroll almost to the bottom and find WILDFIRE LIBRARY DATABASES. You have to download it, CD not available.
