How can a proe file be password protected?

How can we make a file permanently read-only?

Can we disable some operations to a file, I mean say an assembly should be such treated that nobody can replace a file or delete a part file from it.

The shrinkwrap option does not work in big assemblies.

Israr,

If you are using Intralink you can permanently make your model, assembly, etc. in read only but i don't think you can permanently lock models without Intralink.

If you are trying to use just OS file permissions, you have to make the parent directory read only. That is because Pro/E writes a whole new file each time it saves so making the assembly (or part) read only has no effect. A PDM system is a much better solution.
