Pen thickness

copy/paste these lines:

pen 1 thickness 0.025 cm; color 0.0 0.0 0.0
pen 2 thickness 0.025 cm; color 0.0 0.0 0.0
pen 3 thickness 0.025 cm; color 0.0 0.0 0.0
pen 4 thickness 0.025 cm; color 0.0 0.0 0.0

into a notepad file, save it whatever name, let's say "pen.txt", and then in windows explorer change it's extension to "pen.pnt". Remember where you saved the file, better to C:\pen.pnt, or where ever you want just remember where it is.

Then open Pro-E and when printing write C:\pen.pnt into table file, and hit save and this will make another file for printing.

This needs to be done only once and then when printing PRO-E will take the values for pen thickness from the file.

If you're not satisfied with the pen thickness change 0.025 values until you get a clean print.

Hey Vlad,

I used this post to set up a new table file. It worked great. The only problem I'm having now is that I can't print in color. I can print in color if I use the default pro-e table file, but not if I use this one.

What's the trick?

Verge,

I print all my drawings black and white that's why I have that configuration on the pen table. I should have mention this in my previous post....

Have a look on the forum for pen thickness color.

Sorry I can't be of much help on this. I'm sure you can get it working if you look at these posts. What I understand is that you have to put some values for colors where it says 0.0.0.0....

One thing : maybe you can save the default pro-e pen table to some other name and change only the pen thickness and leave the color settings intact...

As a matter of fact, all I had to do was go into config.pro and change the pen thickness for pen 1, which controls the geometry, curves etc.

If you remember the hassle I was going through trying to show colors in my drawings (remember the "colors from model/colors from drawing/changing colors within drawing" thread I started a few weeks ago?), it's a relief to figure this out!

I never did find an actual file called "table.pnt" anywhere, though, or I could just as easily have tweaked the colors in my "pen.pnt" file to match those in the table.pnt file. This is rather confusing. Does "table.pnt" simply refer to the config.pro file, which has pen and color settings? If so, why didn't my "pen.pnt" file work, when it has the same color settings (0.0,0.0,0.0)?

Not that I should really care, but what the heck...

Thanks, Vlad.

Like I said have no idea, I'm printing all black&white, happy me....

Glad to see you figure it out.
