pitch circle diameter not showing

kwillo

New member
I have a pattern of holes which are spaced on apitch circle diameter (PCD).

The PCD shows in the model when I edit the feature but I can't get it to show in drawing. I thought it was supposed to show when you doa view/erase the axisshow axis.

Any ideas? Thanks.

I searched on 'pcd' but missed that one for some reason. Thanks.

Anyway, I can now get the hole axis to aim towards the centre of rotation but the PCD is still missing. radial_pattern_axis_circle is set to 'yes'.

Any more ideas?

You will get a PCD circle only if the pattern is a dimension pattern. For axis pattern you won't get. Atleast that is how it is in WF2. WF3...????

A nice quick cheat....

Draw a curve that is the pcd (edir properties to change the line style to centreline)and show this curve in your drawing (use layer control to blank it in your model and leave it in your drawing)

I think SRINIVASANIYER1 is right. But my pattern was a dimension pattern rather than an axis pattern.

However, problem solved... When creating the pattern I created a datum plane on-the-fly which Pro/E automatically grouped with the pattern:

I ungrouped Group Hole_1 and thePCD just appearedon the drawing:

Don't know why, it just did. Simple as that!

Hopefully this may preventsomebody else wasting several hours and pulling all his/her hair out!

There is no need to group the pattern. In the drawing mode... Show/Erase > select Axis and show_all. You will not only get the axis and the PCD circle, but also the axis pointing radially. You can look at the picture below.

Srini,

Pro/E automatically created the group but ungrouping solved the problem and the PCD was created successfully using the method you suggested.
