Positioning datums relatively

2ms1

I have a project where I need to make a large number of parts that all have the same basic design only that a few dimensional values are varied. Thus, I would like to reduce the number of steps to produce each individual part as much as possible.

I am looking for ways to position things relatively in order that changing one value would "cascade" changes in as many other values automatically as possible rather than requiring the huge amount of individual changing of values I currently have to do in order to produce each new part.

Is there any way, for example, to set the offset values of each of the datum planes below as relative to the beginning and end planes?

Right now I am manually setting their offset values, but it would be lifesaver if I could set like say "Sec2 offset = 20% of Sec9 offset" and thereby only specify the offset of the last datum plane.

Is the pattern number going to be the same? with just differences in overall length?

Your picture is looking pretty symmetrical..is it?

are your ratios going to be the same?

the datum planes are almost symmetrical (the end two planes are rotated different amounts but otherwise it is), however, sections for blend are sketched on each plane and the sections are different.

The number of sections/planes will always be the same and their spacing will be spaced consistantly as percentages of the overall length. For example, the 2nd section located at 8% of length, 3rd at 15%, 4th at 40%, etc.
