Pro/I 3.x slow in launching

Often when I launch INTRALINK 3.3, it takes many minutes of apparent hard drive activity before Intralink fully opens and allows me access to my Workspaces. This delay seems to happen at different places in the opening process from day to day. Sometimes before I enter my username and password, and sometimes after. Sometimes not until I click on the Workspace I want to enter.


Does anyone know what could cause this and how I could fix it? Thanks.

Run an ldbcompact and it will start almost instantly.

Thanks. How do I do that? Is "ldbcompact" run from a command prompt?

From the c:\ptc\proiclient\bin directory type the following command:


ldbcompact.bat "c:\Documents and Settings\pwillia3\ProE\.proi\Local.ddb"


This will compact your workspaces. Of course this is just an example and the path to your local.ddb file will be different.

Glad I could help. I would suggest creating a Windows scheduled task to do this on a weekly basis so you don't have to remember to do it in the future.
