problem with edges

There is a problem with edges. There are edges on the view that can not be used in all means:


-they can not be selected


-they can not be ereased


-they are disable for creating dimension on them


-they can not be used to create a draft line from them - use edge tool


do You have any idea what is going on and how to handle this?

To me it looks like your cross section is incomplete. Try re-defining it so that the edges come out solid.

well it looks like that because of quality of picture. There is a boundary of the section and the edges are there.


But indeed,it could be the section and I afraid it could be caused bythe interferencing between components (it is a an assembly drawing) - latelywe havelot of problems with that situation inmy firm(interferencing components). We are using WF 2 M180

Then you should redefine the components so that they do not interfere with each other.

That happened to me too, I had a large assembly and my section was defined by a plane through 2 axis.

well I just hoped - sending this thread - that it could be something else than interferencing.


Luckly there is a flexible component utility to change component in the sesion if changing the position is not possible

Are you sure you have updated your drawing view? If the drawing is saved with the display and then the model is changed and saved, the drawing will retrieve with the old (out of date) display. Trying to pick edges that have moved is an exercise in futility! Got to View/Update/Current Sheet and see if that changes anything.

well do not understand me wrong dr_gallup but this is obvious to do when You have problems with drawings, so Yes I did it many times





in addition I convert the view to draft entities and than those edges where there

It is rather difficult to see what is on picture, because of its quality and size, if you could upload image on http://imageshack.us/index.phpin bigger size and quality it would help.


Sometimes sections becomes unstable (not sure why) so you could try several things:
Create section again on drawing to see if this happens again
Check this section in asm to see how it looks there
This could be also Excluded component
Also it could be thread or quilt
Drawing entities often couldn't be selected if entities are part of spherical, or elliptical surface in cross section
Or 2 components are in collision.
