Projection onto a surface or edge

Hi,


Is there any way by which I can find the projection of a point (or edge, for that matter) on another surface? On my model, I have an edge and I want to find the projection of that edge on another edge and also a surface. I want to find that exact point where the above mentioned edge touches the other edge. How can I do this?

not sure if I completely understand...


try extruding a surface referencing theedge you want to project. extrude it far enough that it touches the other surface (it would be better if it passed completely thru the other surface).


edit>intersect


*shift select both surfaces and that will create a curve based on where they intersect.
