promotion request

<DIV =forum>

I have revised 6 parts and their drawings (a total of 12 files) using all the proper proceedures.

Now I get to the "Promotion Request" part. As best I can tell, I have to request a promotion of each of these individually even though they are all a part of the same change notice. Is there not a way to request promotion of all of these at one time?

Geez, this is tedious!</DIV>https://home.comcast.net/~warriorfive/miller.wmv

Why don't you select all of them (parts and drawings), RMB to select Promote and thus create promote request for all the parts and drawings at the same time?

Or am I missing the point here?

Skraba,

The correct proceedure (the way we were taught by a PTC var) is to check in the parts/drawings then promote. Once checked in the parts/drawings can only be promoted one at a time (unless all parts/drawings are contained in an assembly). There does not seem to be a way to select more than one at a time.

In this instance the parts/drawings are not contained in an assembly.

Herb.

What version of PDMLink are you using?

We are running Windchill 8.0 and multiple item promotion requests are possible. Just tick the checkbox next to the items you want to promote (should be checked-in) and select the promote icon at the top.

Once the request has been initiated, you still have a further option toadd or subtract files from the request, and to decide which files to actually promote.
