Can anyone please tell me why we have prt0001 files
and others in our assemblys?
I am not sure where they came from although
they are copies of standard parts.
How do you handle them?
Thanks in advance for the help.
When you create a partprt0001 is the part number automatically assigned by the system. You can give a different part number at creation, or you can rename later. Sometimes, when you have a part already in session, and you open a different version of the part, it will come in as prt0001. If you save at that point, you will have two different part numbers for the same part, but two differnt versions. Go back and replace the one you don't want. Then delete prt0001.
