"Read Only" status is ignored by ProE??

We use SVN (a version control system) to manage our CAD database. SVN has an option that defaults a file to being "Read Only" if the user has not locked the file when they need to do work. ProE seems to ignore that a file is "Read Only" and allows the user to edit it freely. Is this normal behavior? Is there a config.pro option file or any other setting that would force ProE to respect the "Read Only" status? Thanks.

Since ProE uses version files there is never an existing file overwritten so "read only" makes no difference as far as the file system is concerned. If I remember well you can do it with Intralink but that is probably something internal to the file rather than the physical state.
