Regenerating Sketcher Relations

phwarren

New member
I have a var section sweep with a typical trajpar relation controlling a spring-like curve. The number that specifies the number of "coils" and "angle" are parameters. Here is the equation:

sd18=trajpar*360*(NUM_COILS+(ANGLE/360))

When I am out of the sketcher and working in the model, then change the angle parameter, it does not regenerate to the new angle. The only way I can get it to regenerate is to "Edit Definition" of the VSS, at which time the new angle updates.

Shouldn't this automatically update after regenerating twice??

I tried to create the relation in the non-sketcher relation box, but the VSS twist cannot be controlled from there.

Is there a way to do this??

Thanks

Phil

Phil, can you create a simple version of what you are
doing and post it (what version Pro/E?)?

Rather than going into a long winded discussion of
possibilities (I'm not sure I know the answers,
VSS and sketcher relations are a little goofy?) or
creating examples (WF2) you can't read or are not
applicable ...

--------------------------

If, though, I were to venture a guess; what you want to
do is go thru Edit Relations, Look In Section vs going
thru the pop up VSS / trajectory / sections thingy.

Jeff:

Thanks for the help.... About an hour after I posted the message, intralink and pro crashed on me... (fortunately I had saved!!) When I re opened everything, the angular dimension parameter controls the VSS fine... the way it should..

I guess pro-e was not working properly (hence the crash) and that was causing the section not to regen...

Thanks anyway for your help!!
